THE BEACHES

The house and apartment, "La pointe Sud", is situated next to the fort, la Tour Fondue, above a small beach. It is surrounded by creeks and fine sand to the east, hardly known and therefore very peaceful, and by a sandy beach to the west, the Pradeau beach.

These beaches are easily accessible on foot (five minutes), even for young children, by the seaside footpath which has been recently renovated.

A five-minute drive away (with easy parking) you have the Badine beach, a magnificent sandy beach situated on the east side of the Giens peninsula. Pine trees allow you to shelter from the sun. The water is very clear and shallow for a long distance, which allows children to play safely.

In the continuity of the Badine beach, you have the Bergerie beach. Here we find numerous activities, surf boards, catamarans or toboggans for hire, etc.

A five-minute drive away (with numerous parking places) on the west of the Giens peninsula, you will find the l'Almanarre beach. Five kilometres long, this beach is well known to wind surfers and kite surfers because of its west wind (the Mistral). On the other hand, this beach is well sheltered from an east wind, which allows you to discover the beautiful colours of the water. Close to the ancient salt marshes, you can observe, from close range, numerous wild birds, in particular the pink flamingos.

On the Porquerolles island, the beaches the Argent, the Courtade and the Notre Dame are extraordinary beaches of fine sand (white on the Argent beach), with turquoise water, bordered with pines and eucalyptus trees. The embarkation point for the boats that go to the island is not far from the house. Otherwise, you can hire the services of a water taxi that will fetch you and return you to the pontoon just in front of the house.
